Tift County is located in Southwest Georgia along the I-75 corridor which runs through the center of the county from North to South. The County is also bisected from East to West by Georgia Highway 82. This is the busiest intersection in the State of Georgia south of Atlanta. Tift County is known as the Turfgrass Capital of the World as well as the Reading Capital of the World. Tift County High School has a strong athletic tradition and one of the best basketball programs in the state. Tift County is the home of Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC) and the Georgia Museum of Agriculture and Historic Village. Jason Hoffman serves as the Solicitor General of Tift County.
